In Kenya’s Baringo region, an area long affected by conflict, women are emerging as powerful peacebuilders and community leaders. Their work was recently featured in Daily Nation Kenya, highlighting how women once silenced by violence are now shaping local decisions, rebuilding livelihoods, and leading peace efforts from the frontlines.

This transformation is part of the African Women Voices for Peace initiative led by ActionAid International Kenya, with support from ActionAid Australia. The program backs women affected by conflict to access trauma services, reclaim economic agency, and take leadership in peace processes.

It marks a powerful milestone for women-led peacebuilding in East Africa.
