Doorways to the Future is tackling the barriers that hold many women in Western and South-Western Sydney back.

In these areas, women face higher levels of disadvantage than the national average, with limited local opportunities, long commutes, unaffordable childcare, and other pressures making it harder to build secure and independent lives.

Led by Sydney Women’s Fund, the program begins by listening. The insights gathered will guide the co-design of targeted initiatives in partnership with local organisations, ensuring solutions are grounded in lived experience and community priorities. These locally-driven initiatives will create pathways into education, training and employment, support social enterprises, and strengthen the capacity of community organisations.
