H3D Foundation

Across Africa, most medicines rely on ingredients produced elsewhere, leaving countries exposed to supply disruptions and rising costs. The H3D Foundation, in partnership with the H3D Centre at the University of Cape Town, is working to change this.
While investing in local capacity to manufacture active pharmaceutical ingredients, H3D is advancing new approaches to produce key HIV medicines more efficiently, using continuous flow technology that reduces costs and supports more reliable supply.
Working in collaboration with local industry and supported by the Government of South African, this initiative connects research directly to manufacturing and strengthens the skills and infrastructure needed for long term pharmaceutical production on the continent.
By focusing on locally led solutions, H3D is contributing to a more resilient and self-sustaining health system in Africa. Learn more about H3D Foundation by visiting their website: h3dfoundation.org
